SCREENING
La Tierra de Nadie (No-Man’s Land)
(1) 19:30, Biblioteca de Andalucía 5€
Synopsis: Hidden between the walls of the ‘Palacio de Carlos V’ (‘Palace of Charles V’) and the ‘Palacio Nazarí’ (`Nazari Palace’) is a space with no owner, no identity. Three artists from three different cultures discuss their joint work, ‘La Tierra de Nadie’ (‘No-Man’s Land’), the first multi-screen installation filmed and exhibited at the Alhambra. Eugenio Ampidia, one of the most acclaimed digital artists in Spain; Yazan Al-Khalili, a Palestinian photographer and Noel Wallace, choreographer and English dancer who has worked with the English National Ballet were commissioned by The Delfina Foundation for this project, which was made especially for the Hay Festival.
After the screening The Delfina Foundation will open up the discussion to talk about its commitment to maintaining an intercultural dialogue between the East and the West. Furthermore the artists will reflect on issues, which arose during filming, such as the relationship between historical heritage, tourism and artistic creativity; the interaction between public and private spaces and the historical significance of the Alhambra. Simultaneous translation into Spanish.
Sponsored by Delfina Foundation, with the generous support of Patronato de La Alhambra y Generalife of the Consejería de Cultura de Andalucía and with the collaboration of Biblioteca de Andalucía, Filmoteca de Andalucía, Fundacion Rodríguez Acosta and the Festival Internacional de Jóvenes Realizadores de Granada.
